* SUNDAY AFTER CHURCH (191/16)

It is almost 9 pm on Easter Sunday!  WHAT A DAY is all I can say!!!

Our Goal was for 200 people to attend and for 10 to accept Jesus into their life for the first time!

My faith was stretched like crazy today.  We missed our attendance goal by 9 people. 191 showed up for church today! (90 people live in Pelzer :) For our little church this is a packed house!!! The energy in that room was electric!!!

We started our series KING!

At the end I had people stand on the spot if they wanted to get saved!  I wasn’t sure anyone would stand and accept Jesus. Lights were full blast, no emotional tug, no tricks.  Only option was to stand in front of all and accept God’s offer of salvation!  You know what happened?

13 ADULTS STOOD!

(that I for sure know of by way of the communication cards or connection on the way out!)

2 TEENS STOOD!

1 CHILD GOT SAVED!

(IN CHILDREN’S CHURCH!)

16 TOTAL!!!

Here is a picture of one side from the back as they started standing!

(The gal in the red shirt I’ve been praying for her soul for 1 year!  Robin brought her and her mom to church & bam!  GOT SAVED!)

I’ll post more about Sunday and this weekend, but this was one of the most exciting weekends for me when I have actually been the main speaker.  I’ve seen others guys do it while I sat and watched hoping God would use me someday.  Today I felt like a part of God’s team of servants. What an honor(and humbling)!

I’ll post more pictures from Sunday in the next few days. This series is lots of fun for me.

Went to a really interesting weekend service on Saturday at a controversial church near us too. But more on that later!

Other thoughts from today:

  • Had my mom and dad visit which is always awesome

  • The Gilmores from MFCN, the church I previously served in OH, visited on their way to Hilton Head! (Pelzer isn’t on the way but we felt honored that they tried to make it seem like it was!  What great friends.) And Steve paid for lunch.
  • Reflected on having the privilege to baptize Morgan and Eric (Gilmore teens) in OH. Incredible teenagers!
  • Ate at PF Changs again!!!  Love that place!

  • Watched the end of Forrest Gump and laughed as my wife cried (b/c. hormones are raging due to pregnancy.) Forrest stands over Jenny’s grave and says “If you need anything I won’t be far away.” My wife was doing that laughing/crying cough thing.
  • Looking forward to the second part of the series next Sunday and communion!
  • I’m exhausted!  There is no way to describe how tired you get when you preach but it is exhilarating and draining at the same time. Plus, I only do it once on Sunday.  I once spoke three times in OH and felt like my head was going to pop off from the severe headache that followed.
  • Smelled breakfast from other churches sun rise services this morning when I stepped out on my front porch!  I went back to bed and then got up and ate a huge cinnamon roll. I’ll be doing that next year as a new tradition!!!
  • The band let it rip and played Mighty To Save (which is my favorite song for now)
  • Last years attendance: 160 & lots of drama (not the good kind)
  • God has brought this church a long way in one year!
  • Biggest thought of the day: “I’M HUMBLED & AMAZED THAT GOD CHOOSES TO USE ME WITH AS MUCH OF A ROYAL SCREW UP AS I OFTEN AM!!!
